Srinagar: Body of a 40-year-old government employee was recovered under suspicious circumstances in the forest area in north Kashmir district of Kupwara, official sources said on Tuesday.
They said that panic gripped Haihama areas when some locals saw body of a man in Jumgand forest in Kupwara late on Monday evening. “The locals immediately informed the police,” they said, adding that a team was rushed to the spot and the body was taken away.
The deceased was later identified as Mohammed Ashraf Qureshi, who is an employee of Department of Animal Husbandry. “Police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident,” they said.
“After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased would be handed over to his relatives for last rites,” they added.
