Reasi:Jammu and Kashmir Police in Reasi district claimed on Tuesday that it has arrested a kidnapping and rape accused after a long hunt of 9 years.
A police spokesman said that the accused Mohammad Mushtaq of Thurru, Arnas, Reasi was wanted in case FIR number 10/2012 dated January 24, 2012 under sections 363, 376, 343, and 109 of IPC registered at police station Reasi.
“After commission of the crime, until date, the accused didn’t appear before the investigator as he was continuously changing his locations to evade his arrest. A warrant under section 512 CrPC was issued against him on March 22, 2012,” he said, adding, “Police in this district, through meticulous planning and effective coordination, tracked and arrested the accused.”
He will be produced before the court soon, the police spokesman added.
