Shopian: A youth who allegedly tried to snatch a rifle from a Bank Security Guard has been arrested in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Police sources told KNT that a youth identified as Nadish Bhat from Kanigam village of Shopian attempted to snatch a 12 bore rifle from a JK Bank Security Guard. The attempt was resisted by the Security Guard.
They said police rushed to spot and arrested the alleged assailant.
The Security Guard who foiled the bid has been identified as Nazir Ahmed from North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police sources added that the arrested youth (21) is being questioned to ascertain the facts. (KNT)
