COVID-19: Sgr admin constitutes Task Force to implement SoPs

Srinagar: District Administration Srinagar on Wednesday constituted a team of officials for the strict implementation of Covid-19 SoPs to contain the spread of pandemic and to deal strictly with the violators of guidelines in spirit.

An official told KNO that as Srinagar is witnessing surge in Covid-19 positive cases and has been categorized as the Orange Zone, the district administration has constituted a team of officials which will ensure the strict implementation of Covid-19 SoPs and guidelines while as the team has been authorized to impose the fine on spot if anyone is found violating the set guidelines.

He further said another team has been constituted and authorized to take legal action against business establishments like restaurants or food points that are found violating the COVID-19 protocols.

Earlier in the day, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Aijaz Asad conducted an inspection at different malls and restaurants to check out the adherence of Covid-19 SoPs and guidelines. Officials said that Asad also inspected the Covid-19 testing facilities in Srinagar.

Later, the DC Srinagar chaired a meeting to take stock of the containment measures in place. An official in the district administration said that a revive meeting was held today in Srinagar regarding the strict implementation of Covid-19 Sops that included ensuring 100 per cent usage of face masks and maintaining physical distance at public places. “It was also decided that the testing capacity would also be increased,” the official, privy to the meeting said.
