Covid-19 Pandemic: In highest jump this yr, JK records 309 cases, 4 deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 309 fresh covid-19 cases, the most in a day so far this year, to take the overall tally of the infections to 129993, officials said on Sunday.

Also, four deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, highest so far this year, taking the fatality count 1989—735 in Jammu and 1254 in Kashmir.

While it is for the first time that the single day cases breached 300-mark in a single day, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed more than 100 cases every day in last 13 consecutive days. In all, 2259 cases were added to the tally in these thirteen days, they said.

Among the fresh cases, they said, 246 were reported in Kashmir Valley and 63 in Jammu division.

Giving the district wise details, they said, Srinagar reported 123 cases, Baramulla 46, Budgam 22, Pulwama 12, Kupwara 27, Anantnag 7, Bandipora 2, Ganderbal 3, Kulgam 3, Shopian 1, Jammu 49,  Udhampur 2, Rajouri 0, Doda 0, Kathua 5, Samba 0, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 2, Ramban 5, and Reasi 0.

A number of cases were reported from SKIMS Soura, CD hospital and GMC Anantnag.

The SKIMS cases include male (30) from Nowpora, female (21) from Karhama, male (25) from Syedabad Sheikhpora, male (23) from Housing Colony Ompora, male (19) from Pakharpora, female (40) from Najan Beerwah, male (16) from Pakharpora, male (38) from Nopora, male (47) and female (47) from Kralpora Main, male (39) from Pakharpora Zainakadal, male (12) from Apnaghar Chewdara, female (09) from Ms ccpora, female (05) from Nowhar, female (50) from Wanbal Rawalpora Budgam, male (22) from Nadigam Budgam, three males (31, 31, 46) from CRPF, Humhama Budgam, , female (55) from Saloora Ganderbal, male (37) from Bemina, male (38) from Lal Bazar, male (62) and female (58) from Zakura, male (70) from Buchpora, male (27) from C/O Skims, male (24) from Illahibagh, male (45) from Chanapora, female (75) from Lalbazar Srinagar and male (33) from Dev Bugh Baramulla.

The GMC Anantnag cases include male (23) from Kanjiullar.

Regarding the deaths, official said three were reported from Jammu and one from Kashmir—45 man  from Kasim Nagar jammu at present Brein Srinagar.

Moreover, they said, there are 117 more covid-19 patients who recovered in the last 24 hours—96 from Kashmir and 21 from Jammu. (GNS)
