Budgam school closed for 5 days after 9 students test positive

Srinagar: Authorities on Tuesday ordered closure of government Higher Secondary School Handpanzoor in central Kashmir’s Budgam district after nine students tested COVID-19 positive.

The closure of the school followed a letter by Nodal Officer, Covid-19 Mitigation Cell Budgam, to the Principal of the institution for closing it for five days from Wednesday.

The students had tested positive during the mass sampling in the School on Tuesday itself. “Moreover, all the primary and secondary contacts of the students are advised to self isolate/quarantine themselves,” reads the letter.

The nodal officer also informed that the testing of the contacts shall be undertaken in due course of time.
