Srinagar: A 17-year-old girl from Srinagar  who has published her first anthology when she was in class 8th dreams to participate in Indian TED talks show.

Duha Bhat, a resident of the Khanyar of Srinagar  and class 11th student, has also written hundreds of poems to help young people to come out of depression and anxiety.

Duha said she started writing when she was in class 6th.

“My book -Oh cancer- you stole her- is based on love and emotional attachment with my grandmother, who was very dear to me but died to cancer,” she said, adding that she initially used to write diaries, however, few people including her parents motivated and encouraged her to write more.

“Whenever I get time, I wrote poetry and so far I have written around 200 poems,” she said, adding that the message in my poetry is to how to face bad times and challenges and how to come out of depression and anxiety.

Duha wants to participate in TED talk show as a storyteller which is hosted by Shahrukh Khan.

She said she was initially inclined to become a philanthropist and still desires to establish a free cancer hospital in Kashmir.

She said the government must provide a platform to writers so that writers can also carve out employment opportunities in the literature field.

“At the moment very less people are choosing this field and government isn’t giving any attention towards the same,” Duha said. (KNO)
