DGP sanctions financial aid of over Rs 4.32 Cr for 451 cops

Jammu: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over Rupees 4.32 crore welfare loan, relief in favour of 451 officers and personnel of J&K Police vide Police Headquarters order number 888 of 2021.

Under this order, Rs 90 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 102 personnel to meet the expenses of self-treatment or for treatment of their dependents. The welfare loan given for the treatment purpose varies from Rs 50000 – 200000. Rs one lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 317 personnel for their own marriage, and marriage of sons/daughters.  Loan of Rs one lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 19 police personnel for higher education of their wards. Rs 50 thousands each have been sanctioned in favour of 13 persons for performing rituals like circumcision/mundan of their wards.

Among 102 personnel who have been given welfare loan for the treatment purpose, Rs 350000 has been sanctioned as welfare relief in favour of twenty personnel. The welfare relief ranges from Rs 10000 to 25000, which is non refundable.

The welfare loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and will be recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without any interest. The amount has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.

Police headquarters under different welfare schemes is providing assistance to all the ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police including the wards of slain police personnel and wards of slain SPOs.
