Need to change our mindset

By: Zuha Ashai

You all have been the source of my happiness, motivation and inspiration. Thank you so much for taking some time to congratulate me, I’m beyond grateful to you all and want to thank you for your good wishes.

I have scored satisfying marks and have achieved it with my capability. I’m not defending myself but I don’t want to delude myself either. I want to talk about the mindset of some people which is rampant in Kashmir. We people are unaware of the actual meaning of education which can be toxic for our future generations. Education isn’t for learning how to make a living but to learn how to live. It isn’t about finding one’s ability by judging their marks in examinations just because a child couldn’t remember what a poet wrote in his poem isn’t going to tell us about their intelligence.

We can’t deny the fact that lakhs of people have scored full marks in exams and have achieved nothing in life because of unemployment. So many people beg for jobs, still are depressed and still are living with their miserable thinking, all we need to change is our mindset and we will become successful. Nobody thinks about the Suicide cases during results, and why is it happening? The answer is us. We never try to train our mind to see good in every situation. I even have a question for most of the people.

Why is everyone interested in the 10th, 12th class results while nobody even cares about people who have no jobs and are sitting useless with no career? Jammu and Kashmir has the second-worst unemployment rate among the States in the country. And nobody cares about this unfortunate thing. According to my thinking, being an adult and still sitting at their home with nothing is the actual failure.

After the exam,  when the result is out people start stating….caring for others is good but discouraging them is bad…some people comment cause of concern but the way they penetrate It has to be good. people continue their life but they leave that child with depression which forces them to suicide. Education has nothing to do with marks but to make us a better person every day. The most powerful weapon Allah has provided us with is our mind…which is indeed the reason for our successful life. We should focus on our goals, not marks. We know our worth, our capabilities and with the grace of Almighty, we can achieve so much in life. Another reason to be successful is by giving we should learn to give every day and it’s what proves our education right. We should stop running after marks and start chasing our goals.

Be jubilant, be grateful. Once again I wanna thank you for all your love and support. May we all be crowned with happiness. (Author is a student of class 11th who recently cleared her Matric exams)
