Body of BDO airlifted to Bandipora after two days

Bandipora: The body of the Block Development Officer, who died while on duty in Gurez two days ago, was airlifted to Bandipora in the north Kashmir on Sunday after improvement in weather conditions.

Abdul Saleem Darzi, Block Development Officer (BDO) posted at Tulail had suffered a massive cardiac arrest while he was on duty on Friday. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. However, the body was not immediately airlifted from Gurez due to bad weather conditions.

With improvement in weather today, a special sortie was arranged with help of the Army to airlift the body from Gurez to Bandipora.

At Bandipora Helipad, all the Civil and military officers led by Deputy Commissioner lined up to bid adieu to their colleague.

Deputy Commissioner Owais Ahmad received the body at Bandipora Helipad wherein all the officers paid floral tributes to the deceased officer and later handed over the body to his relatives.
