Centre announces central university for UT
Srinagar: The Central government has allocated Rs 5958 crore as budget for the newly carved out Union Territory of Ladakh.
As per KNO figures unveiled in the Parliament, the capital expenditure for two- district UT is pegged at Rs 3626 crore and revenue expenditure is estimated at 2331 crore.
In her budget speech, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced to set-up Central University in Leh. “For accessible higher education in Ladakh, I propose to set up a Central University in Leh,” she said.
