Skin of animals recovered in Anantnag, one person arrested

Anantnag: Police along with a team of wildlife raided a house in Shirpora area of Anantnag and recovered skins of various animals, officials said on Saturday.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that during raid at a house in Shirpora Anantnag, skin of various animals including lion, leopard and bear were recovered.

The skins were recovered from the residence of Gul Mohd Ganie, son of Abdul Rehman Ganie of Shirpora Anantnag, he said.

He further added that a case in this regard has been registered and further investigation is going on.

Rouf Zargar Wildlife Warden Anantnag told KNO that eight leopard hides, four musk dear pods and 38 bear gallbladders were recovered.

He said that arrested person was on raddar and evaded arrest several times.

He said that during preliminary investigation arrested person admitted that he has got these skins from Kishtwar.

However, the real story will come to the fore after proper investigation, he added.
