Srinagar, Jan 24: Apni Party Senior Vice President and former Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir has termed the death of two youth hailing from Kupawar inside a stranded load carrier at Banihal as saddening and concerning as well.
While issuing a statement to the media, Mir said such incident is an outcome of sheer imperviousness of the administration towards the stranded people who are left to the mercy of harsh weather on the Jammu Srinagar Highway.
“We at Apni Party have repeatedly requested the administration to take a serious note of the difficulties faced by the stranded passengers on Jammu Srinagar Highway but unless some unfortunate event takes place, the administrations continue to lull in deep slumber,” he said.
Mir sought intervention of Lt. Governor and asked to probe into the matter of this cruel negligence.
“I ask the administration to put a probe into this incident of inhuman negligence and avoid repetition of such incidents in future. Besides the families of the deceased must be supported with ample compensation for they have lost their loved ones for which negligence at administrative level must be held responsible” Mir concluded.
