Srinagar, Jan 21: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force of J&K police on Thursday arrested a drug peddler alongwith heroin and opium worth Rs 6 crore in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.
Official sources said that following specific information, a team of Anti Narcotics Task Force of J&K police recovered a huge consignment of Afghan Grade Heroin and Opium at Qaimoh in Anantnag. “The cost of the recovered drugs is estimated to be Rs 6 crore in the international market,” they said.
They said the accused, identified as Abdul Hamid, was immediately taken into custody, adding a case has been registered and investigations has been taken up. “More arrests are expected in coming days,” they added.
