Srinagar, Jan 18: Two minor children of a Bakerwal family allegedly died due to severe cold during the last 48 hours in south Kashmir district of Kulgam.
Official sources said that a Bakerwal family, a resident of Reasi in Jammu region, had setup their makeshift tent at Devsar, Kulgam in Kashmir, which is witnessing harshest winter in decades. “A 10-year-old boy, identified as Sahil Zubair, developed sever hypothermia and died late on Saturday night inside the tent,”’ they said.
They said during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday the 6-year-old daughter of the same family passed away inside the tent due to chilly weather conditions.
