Srinagar, Dec 31: A goldsmith was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Srinagar on Thursday.
Police said unidentified gunmen fired at a goldsmith, identified as Satpal Nichal, at Saraibal in city in the evening.
Nichal was critically injured in the attack and rushed to SMHS hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Sources said the gunmen managed to escape during the chaos created due to the firing.
After the shoot-out, police and paramilitary forces rushed to the area and launched search operation to nab the attacker. However, no arrests were reported during the hour long operation.
