Srinagar, Dec 28: An 18-month-old baby drowned in river Jhelum on Monday in north Kashmir district of Bandipora, official sources said.
They said a baby boy, identified as Faizan Ahmad, slipped and fell into river Jhelum in village Sadunara of Hajin in Bandipora on Monday. “Other people present in the area also jumped to save the baby boy, but could not do so,” they said.
They said the body of the Faizan was later fished out from the river. “After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites,” they added.
