COVID-19 claims 3 more lives, 250 test positive in J&K

 

Total cases 119,053, death toll mounts to 1,853; recovery rate over 95 percent in UT

Srinagar, Dec 23: Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday recorded three deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,853 in the Union Territory while as 250 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 119,053 in J&K.
Of the exact number of 119,053 cases, 70,050 are from Kashmir and 49,003 from Jammu division. Officials said that among 250 new cases, 115 belong to Kashmir division while as 135 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 70,050 including 67,123 recoveries and 1,171 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 49,003 including 46,522 recoveries and 682 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3,555 including 1,756 from Kashmir division and 1,799 from Jammu division.
With 338 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 113,645 which is 95.45 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 49 from Srinagar, 14 from Baramulla, 17 from Budgam, 07 from Kupwara, 13 from Pulwama, 01 from Anantnag, 03 from Bandipora, 06 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 03 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 135 from Jammu division include 98 from Jammu, 08 from Udhampur, 10 from Rajouri, 05 from Doda, 03 from Kathua, 01 from Kishtwar, 05 from Samba, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 05 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours three persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them two belong to Kashmir division and one to Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Kupwara and Bandipora in Kashmir division and one from Jammu district in Jammu division.
As per officials figures, 24,865 positive cases including 443 deaths and 23,768 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,880 including 170 deaths and 7,558 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,471 including 7,180 recoveries and 106 deaths are from Budgam, 5,464 including 5,230 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Kupwara, 5,453 including 88 deaths and 5,200 recoveries are from Pulwama, 4,749 including 4,552 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,620 cases including 4,477 and 59 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,437 including 4,290 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,646 including 2,526 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,465 including 2,342 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 23,149 including 21,942 recoveries and 347 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,045 including 3,868 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,797 including 3,520 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,353 including 3,205 recoveries and 61 deaths are from Doda, 3,124 including 2,997 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kathua, 2,711 including 2,614 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,700 including 2,429 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Samba, 2,436 including 2,385 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,077 including 2,026 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,612 including 1,536 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 855,949 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 19,919 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 3,555 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 80,3049 persons have completed surveillance period and 27,573 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 3,609,605 samples are available.

Out of 3,609,605 the number of samples tested negative stands at 3,490,552 while as 119,053 have tested positive, among them 3,555 persons are active, 113,645 persons have recovered and 1,853 persons have died. (KNO)
