COVID-19: 10 more die; 346 test positive in J&K

 

Total cases reach 116,600, fatalities mount to 1,812

Srinagar, Dec 15: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday recorded ten deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,812 in the Union Territory while as 346 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 116,600 in J&K.

Of the exact number of 116,600 cases, 68,840 are from Kashmir and 47,760 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agencyā€”Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 346 new cases, 146 belong to Kashmir division while as 200 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 68,840 including 65,372 recoveries and 1,156 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 47,760 including 44,982 recoveries and 656 deaths.

 

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,434 including 2,312 from Kashmir division and 2,122 from Jammu division.

 

With 460 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 110,354 which is 94.64 percent of the total cases.

 

ā€œCases tested positive in J&K include 75 from Srinagar, 08 from Baramulla, 16 from Budgam, 15 from Kupwara,Ā Ā  12 from Pulwama, 04 from Anantnag, 07 from Bandipora, 06 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 200 from Jammu division include 117 from Jammu, 12 from Udhampur, 22 from Rajouri, 07 from Doda, 15 from Kathua, 11 from Kishtwar, 09 from Samba, 02 from Poonch, 02 from Ramban and 03 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

 

Notably, in the last 24 hours ten persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them four belong to Kashmir division and six to Jammu division.

 

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include three from Srinagar and one from Kulgam in Kashmir division and two each from Doda and Kuthua and one each from Jammu district, Udhampur in Jammu division.

 

As per officials figures, 24,391 positive cases including 436 deaths and 22,864 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,754 including 169 deaths and 7,408 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,343 including 6,962 recoveries and 105 deaths are from Budgam, 5,387 including 5,124 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Kupwara, 5,312 including 88 deaths and 5,057 recoveries are from Pulwama, 4,671 including 4,491 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,555 cases including 4,407 and 57 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,365 including 4,228 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,630 including 2,511 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,432 including 2,320 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.

 

In Jammu division, 22,374 including 21,233 recoveries and 333 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,968 including 3,668 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,727 including 3,433 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,303 including 3,113 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Doda, 3,036 including 2,872 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Kathua, 2,682 including 2,527 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,636 including 2,376 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Samba, 2,422 including 2,372 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,042 including 1,942 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,570 including 1,446 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Reasi.

 

As per the daily information bulletin, 835,055 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 20,955 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 4,434 persons are in isolation.

 

According to the bulletin, 779,229 persons have completed surveillance period and 28,625 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 3,390,826 samples are available.

 

Out of 3,390,826 the number of samples tested negative stands at 3,274,226 while as 116,600 have tested positive, among them 4,434 persons are active, 110,354 persons have recovered and 1,812 persons have died. Ā KNO)
