COVID-19: Fatalities cross 1700-mark in J&K

8 more die, 454 test positive; case tally at 104068

Srinagar, Dec 1: The death toll due to COVID-19 crossed the grim milestone of 1700-mark in J&K on Tuesday with eight more people succumbing to the pestilence, while 454 more people tested positive to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Tuesday.
They said that death toll due to COVID-19 in the Union Territory has mounted to 1702, while 104068 have tested positive for virus across J&K till date.
Officials said that among the victims who succumbed today, five were from Jammu division and three from Kashmir.
The victims from Jammu include an 82-year-old man from Udhampur, an 86-year-old from Trikuata Nagar Jammu, a 44-year-old man from Ramkore Billawar Kathua, a 35-year-old from Rajwatta Ramkot Kathua and a 52-year-old from man from R S Pora Jammu, the officials said.
Those who succumbed to the virus in Valley include two residents of Srinagar and one from Anantnag.
With these deaths, the total fatality count in the Valley has reached to 1107 and 595 in the Jammu region. the J&K has reported 100 deaths in around 13 days, the officials said.
Srinagar district with 418 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (302), Baramulla (163), Budgam (101), Pulwama (86), Kupwara (83), Anantnag (79), Doda (56), Bandipora (51), Kulgam (51), Rajouri (49), Udhampur (50), Ganderbal (38), Shopian (37), Kathua (39), Samba (30), Poonch (22), Ramban (18), Kishtwar(18), and Reasi (9). JK reports 454 new cases, 104068 recover till date

Meanwhile, the Government on Tuesday informed that 454 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 217 from Jammu division and 237 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 110678.
Moreover,503 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 230 from Jammu Division and 273 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 110678 positive cases, 4908 are Active Positive, 104068 have recovered and 1702 have died; 595 in Jammu division and 1107 in Kashmir division.
The bulletin further said that out of 3037239 test results available, 2926561 samples have been tested as negative till December 01, 2020.
Till date 790770 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20353 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4908 in isolation and 33671 in home surveillance. Besides, 730136 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 23177 positive cases (including 118cases reported today) with 1119 Active Positive, 21640 recovered (including 121 cases recovered today), 418 deaths; Baramulla has 7473 positive cases (including 18 cases reported today) with 282 Active Positive, 7028 recovered (including 44 cases recovered today), 163deaths; Pulwama reported 5118 positive cases (including 09 case reported today) with 146 active positive cases, 4886 recovered (including 13 cases recovered today), 86 deaths; Kulgam has 2596 positive cases (including 03 case reported today) with 55 Active Positive, 2490 recoveries, 51 deaths; Shopian has 2353 positive cases (including 05 case reported today) with 79 Active Positive, 2237 recovered and 37 deaths; Anantnag district has 4563positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 122 Active Positive, 4362 recovered (including 06cases recovered today), 79 deaths; Budgam has 6940 positive cases (including 45 cases reported today) with 248 Active Positive and 6591 recovered (including 28 cases recovered today), 101 deaths; Kupwara has 5208 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 223 Active Positive, 4902 recovered (including 21 cases recovered today), 83 deaths; Bandipora has 4431 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today) with 131 Active Positive, 4249 recovered (including 26 cases recovered today), 51 deaths and Ganderbal has 4213 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 188 active positive cases, 3987recoveries (including 14 cases recovered today)and 38 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has20772 positive cases (including 95 cases reported today) with 692 active positive cases, 19778 recoveries (including 60 cases recovered today), 302 deaths; Rajouri has 3512 positive cases (including 25 cases reported today) with 168 active positive cases, 3295 recovered (including 08 cases recovered today), 49 deaths; Ramban has 1934 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 92 active positive, 1824 recoveries (including 53 cases recovered today) and 18 deaths; Kathua has 2820 positive cases (including 20 cases reported today) with 112 Active positive, 2669 recovered (including 10 cases recovered today), 39 deaths; Udhampur has 3590 positive cases (including 25 cases reported today) with 386 active positive cases, 3154 recovered (including 78 cases recovered today) and 50 deaths; Samba has 2487 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 216 Active Positive, 2239 recoveries and 32 deaths; Doda has 3124 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today) with 227 active positive cases, 2841 recoveries (including 21 cases recovered today), 56 deaths; Poonch has 2394 positive cases (including 03cases reported today) with 59 active positive, 2313 recoveries, 22 deaths; Reasi has 1473 positive cases with 102 active positive, 1362 recoveries and 09 deaths while Kishtwar has 2500 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 261 active positive cases and 2221 recoveries and 18 deaths.
According to the bulletin, among the total 110678 positive cases in J&K, 10775 have been reported as travellers while 99903 as others.
The bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.

The bulletin added that there are 1306 COVID dedicated beds, 1170 Isolation beds with 996 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds where 77 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2345 COVID dedicated beds, 2197 Isolation beds where 1811 beds are vacant and 148 ICU beds where 116 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are total of 3651 COVID dedicated beds, 3367 Isolation beds with 2807 beds vacant and 284 ICU beds with 193 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.

The government has also started free tele-consultation general OPD services by Specialists/MBBS Doctors for the residents of J&K under National Tele-consultation Service. People can avail these services from Home by registering online on web portal https://esanjeevaniopd.in/. The services are available on Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. People can also download and install e-sanjeevani OPD app from google play store.

Besides, 24×7 Rapid Antigen Testing facility for COVID-19 has been started outside the emergency of GMC Hospital Jammu. The facility will be very useful for segregation of patients in emergency wing of GMC Jammu.
