Jammu, Nov 29: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and his advisors have extended warm greetings to the people of J&K on the auspicious occasion of Prakash Parv of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism.
In his message, the Lt Governor said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s principles of purity of mind, honest living, and selfless service are elemental to the establishment of a harmonious society without discrimination and distinction.
“Guru Ji’s life and his message of love, compassion, equality, peace, and brotherhood continue to guide humanity to this day. As a tribute, we must resolve to follow the path laid down by him to strengthen the bond of amity, integrity, and mutual goodwill among people”, the Lt Governor remarked.
The Lt Governor expressed hope that the occasion will inspire all of us to follow the ideals of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He also prayed for peace, progress, and prosperity in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and the well-being of its people.
Advisor Farooq Khan
Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan in a message of greetings, described Guru Nanak Devji, the founder of Sikhism, as an apostle of peace and tolerance whose teachings would continue to inspire generations, leading them to the path of righteousness and brotherhood.
He observed that Guru Nanak Devji strove all his life for promoting social justice and equality and to bring about peace and harmony among the communities.
Advisor Khan hoped that the celebration of this auspicious event would contribute towards strengthening brotherhood and communal harmony and would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar in his felicitation message maintained that the teachings and message of love, compassion, equality, peace and brotherhood that Guru Ji promoted all his life holds extreme relevance even today.
The Advisor said that on this day we all must resolve to come together in the spirit of harmony and humility, as preached by the great Guru, to create a peaceful and equitable society.

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan in his message, said that Guru Nanak ji’s life and message emphasizing truth, simplicity and equality of all human beings continues to inspire and guide us. His teachings can help us lead a happier, more meaningful and more fulfilling life, he added.
The Advisor hailed the teachings of Guru Nanak saying they are relevant in today’s world and added that a society without discrimination and distinction – the vision of Guru Nanak – is the vision towards which we should strive.
Chief Secretary
Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam in his message on the eve of Gurupurab said that the festival celebrates the life and teachings Guru Nanak Dev and teaches us to adopt the principles of truthfulness, righteousness, compassion and service to mankind in our lives.
The Chief Secretary hoped that the festival further strengthens the bond of brotherhood and ushers a new era of peace, progress, and prosperity. He also urged people to abide by COVID-appropriate behaviour during the festivities.
DGP Dilbag Singh
Director General of Police Dilbag Singh in his message said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji imparted the world deep knowledge of eternal values of spirituality, humanity, morality, devotion and truth. He said that the values underlying the teachings of the great Guru should guide our endeavours to preserve the unity and secular outlook of our country. He also prayed for long lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
