J&K records 4 more COVID-19 deaths, 661 fresh cases

Srinagar, Nov 20: Jammu and Kashmir reported four more COVID-19 deaths in last 24 hours, while 661 more people tested positive for the virus, officials said on Friday.
They said that death toll due to COVID-19 in J&K has mounted to 1622, while 105376 have tested positive for the pestilence across the union territory till date.
They said that two each deaths were reported in Kashmir and two in Jammu division.
Regarding the victims from Valley, they said that one of them was a 65-year-old woman from Shahlaal Kupwara and a 67-year-old man from Pran Bawan Anantnag. The victims were Jammu region were from the J&K’s winter capital, they added.
With these deaths, the total fatality count in the Valley has reached 1072 and 550 in the Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 402 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (287), Baramulla (159), Budgam (98), Pulwama (86), Kupwara (80), Anantnag (77), Doda (52), Bandipora(49), Rajouri (49), Kulgam (48), Ganderbal (37), Shopian (36), Udhampur (36), Kathua (35), Samba (26), Poonch (22), Ramban (18), Kishtwar(16), and Reasi (9).

2 doctors among 661 new cases
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir reported 661 fresh cases of COVID-19 cases including two doctors in last 24 hours, taking the tally to 105376, officials said.

Giving district-wise details, they said Srinagar reported 169 cases, Baramulla 63, Budgam 53, Pulwama 22, Kupwara 27, Anantnag 16, Bandipora 21, Ganderbal 28, Kulgam 6, Shopian 3, Jammu 98, Rajouri 10,

Udhampur 50, Doda 17, Kathua 8, Poonch 2, Samba 12, Kishtwar 36, Ramban 10 and Reasi 10. (GNS)

A number of these cases were confirmed at CD hospital’s diagnostic laboratory and include female (75) from Khag Budgam, two females (55, 27) from Bandzoo, two females (30, 26) from Lethpora, male (30) from Rakh Lajoora, male (36) from Kadalbal Pampore, male (20) from Humhama, male (47) from Alamgiri Bazar, three males (40, 20, 72) and female (55) from Rajbagh, male (60) from Natipora, male (24) from Dalgate, male (30) from Kashmir University, female (40) from Nowshera Srg, female (32) from Natipora, male (40) from Hajan Sumbal, female (65) from Srinagar, male (48) from Baghi Mehtab Srg, male (50) from Wathora Chadoora, female (55) from Pather Masjid Srg, male (50) from Haft Chinar Srg, female (42) from Soura Srg, male (50) from Baghat Srg, two females (50, 23) and male (55) from Kralpora Srg, female (26) from Safakadal, female (30) from Alamgiri Bazar, two males (60, 13) and female (20) from Lal Bazar, male (26) from Chattabal, female (60) from Baghi Mehtab, female (68) from Soura, male (24) from Pushwari, male (30) from Chandigam Lolab, female (45) from Handwara, male (28) from Chotipora, male (30) from Duhama Kup, female (58) from Srinagar, female (70) from Pampore, male (51) and female (15) from Bemina Srg, male (46) from Buchpora, female (57) from Pulwama, female (44) from Tangdhar, male (65) from Magam.

Moreover, they said, 539 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals— 208 from Jammu Division and 331 from Kashmir. (GNS)
