COVID-19: India clocks less than 30,000 cases

New Delhi, Nov 17: India after a long time registered less than thirty thousand fresh cases of nCoV in a single day, with 29,164 fresh infections clocked in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry update said here on Tuesday.

Active caseload further witnessed a dip by 12,077 since Monday, as per the government data, and the nation currently houses 4,53,401 active cases of the novel coronavirus.

However, the highly contagious virus claimed 449 more lives in the past 24 hours, pushing the death toll due to the pandemic to date to 1,30,519.

 

Meanwhile, 40,791 more people defeated the virus since Monday after which the recoveries so far have now reached 82, 90,371, the data added.

 

In percentage, the active cases are now 5.11 per cent, cured/discharged at 93.42 per cent and the fatalities 1,47 per cent of the country total case count till date,

 

According to the Indian Council for Medical Research, a total of 12,65,42,907 COVID tests have been done till date since March.
