COVID-19 claims 6 more lives, 572 test positive in J&K

Death toll mounts to 1604; total cases at 103581

Srinagar, Nov 17: Jammu and Kashmir reported six more COVID-19 deaths in last 24 hours, while 572 more people tested positive for the virus, officials said.
They said that fatality count in J&K has risen to 1604, while 103581 people have tested positive for the pestilence across the union territory till date.
Official sources said that three deaths each were reported in Kashmir and Jammu.
While seven deaths were reported in official bulletin today, a local GNS said that it had reported one among the fatalities regarding a man from Ganderbal district’s Kachan area two days back.
The victims from Kashmir include a 75-year-old woman from Noorbagh Baramulla, a 70-year-old from KokernagAnantnag and a 62-year-old woman from SumblarBandipora.
Regarding the deaths from Jammu division, they said, the one victim each belonged to Udhampur, Kathua and Samba.
With these deaths, the total fatality count in the Valley has reached 1063 and 541 in the Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 399 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (283), Baramulla (158), Budgam (97), Pulwama (85), Kupwara (78), Anantnag (76), Doda (50), Rajouri (48), Kulgam (48), Bandipora(49), Shopian (36), Ganderbal (37), Udhampur (36), Kathua (34), Samba (26), Poonch (22), Ramban (18), Kishtwar(16), and Reasi (8).

572 new cases in J&K
Meanwhile, thirty-two travellers and five soldiers were among 572 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in Jammu and Kashmir, taking the total tally to 103581.
Among the fresh cases, 191 were confirmed from Jammu and 381 from Kashmir, officials said.
They said Srinagar reported 147, Baramulla 35, Budgam 25, Pulwama 17, Kupwara 106, Anantnag 6, Bandipora 10, Ganderbal 30, Kulgam 4, Shopian 1, Jammu 95, Rajouri 6, Udhampur 28, Doda 15, Kathua 12, Poonch 3, Samba 10, Kishtwar 13, Ramban 1 and Reasi 8.

A number of these cases were confirmed at SKIMS Soura and CD hospitals diagnostic laboratories.
The BSF cases include male (55) from Ch BSF Humhama Srinagar.
The CRPF cases include male (53) from 115 Qc Alusteng Srinagar.
The Bandipora cases include female (55) from SumbalBandipora.
