Death toll mounts to 1484, cases at 95325

Srinagar, Nov 1: A 40-year-old woman was among four more persons who died due to COVID-19, while 540 fresh positive cases were reported across Jammu and Kashmir during the past 24 hours, officials said on Sunday.
They said that the fatality count in the Union Territory has mounted to 1484, while 95325 people have tested positive for the virus in J&K till date.
Officials said that the deceased include three victims from Kashmir and one in Jammu.
Regarding the 40-year-old woman, they said, she was from Eidgah Srinagar, and died at SKIMS Soura, eight days after being admitted to the tertiary care hospital.
A 60-year-old woman from Sumbal Bandipora also died at SKIMS Soura, 11 days after she was admitted to SKIMS Soura.
The other victim from Valley was a 60-year-old woman from Litter Pulwama, they said.
The person who succumbed to the virus in Jammu region was a resident of winter capital of Jammu, they said.
With these deaths, the fatality count has reached 1480 in J&K—984 in Valley and 496 in the Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 358 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (258), Baramulla (145), Budgam (94), Pulwama (82), Kupwara (73), Anantnag (74), Rajouri (47), Kulgam (46), Bandipora(47), Doda (46), Shopian (35), Ganderbal (33), Udhampur (32), Kathua (31), Samba (25), Poonch (23), Kishtwar(14), Ramban (13), and Reasi (8). J&K reports 540 fresh cases, total 95325
Meanwhile, three minors and two doctors besides twenty-five travelers were among 540 new COVID-19 cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir in last 24 hours, taking the total infection count so far to 95325.
Among the fresh cases, 171 belong to Jammu division and 369 to Kashmir.
Giving district-wise details, officials said Srinagar reported 153 cases, Budgam 26, Baramulla 87, Pulwama 29, Kupwara 20, Anantnag 13, Bandipora 7, ganderbal 23, Kulgam 6, Shopian 5, Jammu 108, Rajouri 4, Udhampur 22, Doda 6, Kathua 6, Poonch 5, Samba 2, Kishtwar 9, Ramban 5 and Reasi 4.
A number of these cases were confirmed at CD hospital Srinagar’s diagnostic laboratory.
