Covid-19 claims 4 more lives in JK, death toll rises to 1456

 

4 docs among 536 new cases; total cases rise to 93213

Srinagar, Oct 28: Jammu and Kashmir reported four more covid-19 deaths in last 24 hours, taking the fatality count to 1456.

Among the victims, three were from Jammu and one from Kashmir Valley.

The victim from Valley was a 58-year-old woman from Bagh-e-Mehtaab, Srinagar who was admitted in a hospital here and diagnosed with bilateral community acquired pneumonia on October 18.

The patients died in Jammu and another in Kathua.

With these deaths, the fatality count has reached to 1456 — 968 in Valley and 488 in Jammu region.

Srinagar district with 348 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (251), Baramulla (143), Budgam (92), Pulwama (80), Kupwara (72), Anantnag (74), Kulgam (46), Bandipora(46), Rajouri (46), Doda (45), Shopian (35), Ganderbal (32), Kathua (31), Udhampur (30), Samba (25), Poonch (23), Kishtwar(14), Ramban (13), and Reasi (8). Meanwhile, 35 travelers and four doctors were among 536 new covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir in last 24 hours.

Among the new cases, 199 were reported from Jammu region and 337 from Kashmir.

Giving district wise details, officials said, Srinagar reported 131 cases, Budgam 27, Baramulla 73, Pulwama 12, Kupwara 30, Anantnag 13  Bandipora 12, Ganderbal 25, Kulgam 6, Shopian 8, Jamm 118, Rajouri 3, Udhampur 6, Doda 4, Kathua 14, Poonch 5, Samba 12, Kishtwar 18, Ramban 8 and Reasi 11.

Moreover, they said, 546 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals in J&K. Of them 213 hailed from Jammu division and 333 from Kashmir. (GNS)
