Traders favour comprehensive unity

Srinagar, Oct 25: Kashmir Traders United Forum has started gathering all trade associations and parties under one banner and started a series of meetings with representatives and heads of various business associations.

A meeting was held on Sunday under Chairmanship of the forum Farooq Ahmed Dar. Nazir Ahmad Shah, head of Shahar Khas Traders Coordination Committee, Abdul Hameed, president of Jangalat Market Association, Imtiyaz Ahmed Dar and Tahir Ahmed, representatives of Maisma Bazaar committees and others attended the meeting. Zahoor Ahmed Shah ( Badshah), president of Kashmir Traders Federation, spoke on the phone.

Addressing the meeting, Farooq said the policy of division of trade associations has discouraged the traders as well as the interests of the traders.

He said the initiative to bring it under common plate form will be completed and the reach out to trader’s campaign will continue.

Dar said the forum will be dissolved after the alliance of trade associations and fair elections as that is the main purpose of the forum. He said he is not in the race for any kind of presidential candidate.

The chairman of Kashmir Traders United Forum said a series of meetings with more trade leaders and representatives of associations would be started in the coming days, after which the districts would also be visited.

Announcing his support for the alliance, the trade leaders said that they were convinced that unity in trade associations was need of hour.

Trade leaders also agreed with the proposal and unity of traders under one platform and said by uniting the problems of traders, the problems of the traders can be solved. (KNS)
