COVID-19: 5 more die, 624 test positive in J&K

Fatality count mounts to 1404, total cases 89582

Srinagar, Oct 21: Two persons in their 40s were among five more deaths reported due to COVID-19, while 624 more people tested positive for the virus in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours, officials said on Wednesday.
They said that the fatality count due to COVID-19 in the union territory has mounted to 1404, while 89582 people have tested positive for the virus in J&K till date.
Officials said that on Wednesday Kashmir recorded four COVID deaths while one person died in Jammu.
They said that a 48-year-old woman from Sopore Baramulla died at SKIMS Soura, three days after she was admitted there. An 85-year-old woman from Ram Bagh Srinagar died at SMHS hospital, two days after she was admitted there. A 63-year-old man from HMT Srinagar died at SKIMS. Also a 40-year-old man from Mansbal Ganderbal died at the tertiary care hospital, 15 days after he was admitted there.
With these deaths, the fatality count has reached 940 in Kashmir and 464 in Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 337 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (240), Baramulla (137), Budgam (90), Pulwama (79), Kupwara (71), Anantnag (71), Kulgam (46), Bandipora(42), Rajouri (45), Doda (42), Shopian (35), Ganderbal (31), Kathua (30), Udhampur (27), Samba (25), Poonch (22), Kishtwar(14), Ramban (12), and Reasi (7).

J&K reports 624 new cases, total 89582
Meanwhile, twenty-one travelers were among 624 new COVID-19 cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir in last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 89582.
Among the new cases, official sources told GNS that 228 were reported from Jammu Division and 396 from Kashmir.
Giving district wise details, they said, Srinagar reported 176, Budgam 29, Baramulla 63, Pulwama 14,
Kupwara 37, Anantnag 21, Bandipora 15, Ganderbal 18, Kulgam 16, Shopian 7, Jammu 112, Rajouri 14,
Udhampur 14, Doda 15, Kathua 6, Poonch 9, Samba 12, Kishtwar 38, Ramban 8 and Reasi 0.
A number of these cases were confirmed at SKIMS and CD hospital diagnostic laboratories.
The SKIMS cases include male (72) from Kanihama Budgam, female (11) from Lasjan, male (38) from Budgam, female (34) from Budgam, male (55) from Chittergam, male (35) from Nowgam budgam, female (25) from Darwan budgam, male (45) from Chrari shareef budgam, female (42) from Chanpora.
The cases also include male (56) from 54 bn crpf nishat sgr, male (38) from 25 bn Crpf Humhama budgam, male (23) from 528 ASC bn niyari kupwara, male (28) from 28 dou niyari kupwara, male (23) from 290 fd regt panzgam kupwara, male (27) from 54 rr zangli kupwara, male (65) from Kangan Ganderbal, female (20) from Chittergul, female (45) Chittergul, female (12) Chittergul, female (09) from Chittergul in Ganderbal.
Besides the cases include male (28) from Malura sgr, male (40) from Karnah kupwara, male (48) from Mawar handwara, male (28) from Kangan Ganderbal, male (55) from Awanta bhawan sgr, male (36) from Nowshera sgr, male (50) from Malangpora pulwama, male (53) from Ellahibagh sgr, female (50) from Pulwama, male (24) from Nowshera sgr, male (64) from Rajbagh sgr, female (29) from Watlar ganderbal, female (36) from Baghat sgr, male (45) from Bhagat sgr, male (30) from Lalbazar sgr, female (60) from Kupwara, male (83) from Rawalpora sgr, male (32) from Soura sgr, male (70) from Lalbazar sgr.
