CBI arrests F&S official in bribe case in Rajouri

Jammu, Oct 21: The sleuths of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have arrested an officer of Food and Supply Department for demanding and accepting a bribe in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A senior CBI official said a complaint was lodged by one ration dealer alleging that the Junior Assistant posted in office of the Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO), Food , Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) at Manjakot on Tuesday, was demanding Rs 22,500/- as commission out of the amount transferred to complainant’s account for carrier charges.
“Acting on a complaint, a team of CBI on Tuesday raided the TSO office and nabbed the Junior Assistant identified Shadab Hussain with the bribed money,” a CBI official said.
“The team raided the office reportedly on a complaint of irregularities being committed by a junior assistant who was appointed 2-3 years ago,” he said adding that the junior assistant is resident of Manjakot tehsil.
“A case has been registered and the accused was also produced in the Court for further action,” he added.
