Precious Kashmir News
Srinagar, Oct 19: Welcoming the summoning and questioning of National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah by Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday in connection with the J&K Cricket Association scam, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kashmir said the funds were meant for the development of sports instead of personnel use.
The BJP Kashmir Media Incharge Manzoor Bhat appreciated the ED questioning of Dr Abdullah the main accused in multi crore JKCA scam.
He said people are waiting when the accused involved in the scam would be arrested and justice done. “He said under Abdullah’s nose, the scam was done and he acted as a mute spectator,” Bhat alleged.
“The money meant for promotion of cricket and youth was allegedly looted and misused by Abdullah”, he said and alleged that successive governments in J&K tried to hush-up the case.
Bhat said BJP welcome the move and urged the Central government to nab other leaders who also had indulged in corruption and other scams.
While reacting to Abdullah’s reaction over ED’ summon as ‘BJP is employing agencies to target him, Bhat said BJP rejects such allegations and believes in vibrant functioning of democratic institutions.
