Fire breaks out in Sopore forests

Sopore, Oct 13:  A massive fire broke out in Kandi forests in Rampura Rajpur of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday evening.

Officials said the fire mysteriously broke out in compartment number 28 and 38 in the range and is spreading to more areas, causing huge damage to the green gold trees.

The Conservator forests north Kashmir Irfan Rasool said a forest team is on the job to extinguish the fire.

He said it would take nearly three hours to douse the flames, adding that the Range Officer Kandi forest range Sopore is on the spot and is monitoring and coordinating firefighting efforts. (KNO)
