Hangul captured in Awantipora shifted to Dachigam National Park

Awantipora, Oct 12: The Wild Life Team Monday captured a ‘Hangul’ in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district and shifted it to Dachigam National Park Srinagar.

An official said after the information from locals that a ‘Hangul’ is roaming in the Buhoo Awantipora area, Wild Life team from Tral rushed to the spot and after hard efforts captured the ‘Hangul’.

Hangul or Kashmir Stag is one of the rarest deer in the world found only in Kashmir Valley. Last year, a ‘Hangul’ was captured from the Tral area while a herd of around 6 to 8 deer were seen in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district recently.

The official said that captured ‘Hangul’ was shifted to Dachigam National Park Srinagar. (KNT)
