Class 11th students stage protest in Sopore, demand mass promotion

Srinagar, Oct 12:  Students of Class 11th on Monday morning staged a protest here in north Kashmir’s Sopore town demanding mass promotion.

The students from Sopore and adjoining areas assembled outside boys higher secondary Sopore raising slogans in favour of mass promotion.

The students later blocked Tangmarg- Narbal road at Magam near old Hospital for traffic and demanded mass promotion.

The students both boys and girls hit to road and disrupted the vehicular movement for some time. Commuters faced a lot of problem due to road block. The students raised slogans against the board of school education.

Blocking Sopore-Srinagar road protesting students said if Jammu division students were given mass promotion why not for us too.

The protesting students said that in view of the prevailing Covid-19 situation, they suffered a lot and their academic session was adversely affected as they failed to concentrate on studies.

A police team rushed to spot and pacified the protesting students with the assurance that matter will be raised with the concerned agency. After their assurances, the protesting students dispersed off peacefully. (KNS)
