Ambulance overturns, 2 COVID positive sisters die

Srinagar, September 25: Two sisters were killed and two others injured in a road accident when an ambulance turned turtle near Nipora Mir Bazaar area of Qazigund in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday.
An official told GNS that, an Ambulance on way from Jammu towards Srinagar bearing no. PB 02 BY 1387 driven by Umer Jehangir son of Mohammad Jehangir of Dangyar Jammu carrying two ladies (COVID-19 positive patients) namely Haji Maryam Sheikh and Zareena Shiekh daughters of Ghulam Mohammad Shiekh of Sangra Bata Kishtwar turned turtle at Nipora stop due to the over speed by the said driver.
In this incident both the ladies died on the spot. Driver and one more person namely Arfan Khan son of Mohammad Sadiq of Poonch were also injured.
One of the lady’s body is lying in Vessu hospital and another at District hospital Anantnag.
Meanwhile a case has been registered and investigation taken up.(GNS)
