23-yr-old woman among 17 die of COVID-19, J&K toll 1128

 

Srinagar, Sep 26 : A 23-year-old woman was among seventeen more persons who succumbed to covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir in last 24 hours, taking the fatality count to 1128, officials said on Saturday.
Among the fresh fatalities, they said, twelve were reported from Jammu and five from Kashmir Valley.
Among those who succumbed in Jammu include five from winter capital of the J&K, two each from Udhampur and Poonch districts besides one each from Kathua, Doda and Kishtwar, they said.
Regarding five deaths from Valley, they said, two of them were from Bandipora and one each from Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam districts.
Among other who succumbed in Jammu include a 23-year-old woman from Ploura Dhok Jammu, a 65-year-old man from Kamsar Poonch who also died in the GMC Jammu, a 58-year-old Jagati Jammu, a 73-year-old woman from Talab Tillo and a 72-year-old man from a place near Degree College Poonch who died on way to the GMC Jammu where he was referred to from the District Hospital Poonch.
Also, they said a 75-year-old man from Ramnagar in Udhampur district died in the GMC Jammu along with a 62-year-old man, a Chemist shop owner, also from same area.
Also, a 68-year-old man from Kishtwar town died in the District Hospital due to acute respiratory distress and bilateral Community Acquired Pneumonia.
They said that an 88-year-old man from village Barwal in Kathua district died of multiple ailments.
Among those who died in Valley includes a 78-year-old man Duderhama Ganderbal who died at SKIMS Soura. A doctor at the tertiary care hospital told GNS that the man was admitted on September 18 and died today.
He said a 55-year-old man from Awantabhawan Srinagar also died at SKIMS Soura, five days after he was admitted there. “He was suffering Covid Pneumonia with Sepsis with septic shock and had COD cardiopulmonary arrest,” the doctor added. (GNS)
