Burglars decamp cash from shrine in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sept 22: Burglars decamped with cash from an iron donation box of a shrine in the down town, Srinagar, second such incident during the past two weeks, official sources said on Tuesday.
They said burglars broke open the donation box of the shrine of Hazrat Rehbab Sahib in Aali Kadal area of the down town during the night intervening Monday and Tuesday and decamped with cash. However, exact cash looted from the donation box was not known, they said.
Police has registered a case and initiated proceedings.
This was the second such incident in the down town Srinagar as on September 12 burglars broke donation box at the main entrance of shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadeer Jeelani popularly known as Dastigeer Sahib in the down town.
Later, police had collected the CCTV footage of the area in which a person was seen breaking the box with some iron rod. However, so far no arrest has been made.
People have expressed their anger and demanded immediate arrest of burglars responsible for both incidents.
