Srinagar Sep 12: Residents of Rampura and Rajpora ( Khudgoo Mungluu) forest area of Sopore Baramulla have a reason to rejoice as they got access to mobile network connectivity for the first time on Thursday.
The mobile phone services were launched in Kashmir in 2013 when the then late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee received the first call from the then state chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Seventeen years after, Reliance Joi started mobile connectivity in Rampura And Rajpora ( Khudgoo Mungluu) forest area of Sopore Baramulla.
Residents of this forest area told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that they have been demanding phone connectivity for years.
“We are really happy that we have now mobile connectivity in our village,” the residents said.
The area has lush green forests and lies in upper reaches of Baramulla.
They can now stay connected to the world through voice calls and internet connectivity.(KINS)
