Army to motivate, prepare Kashmiri youth for recruitment to become soldiers

Srinagar, Sept 8: The Indian Army has decided to motivate and prepare Kashmiri youth for competing in recruitment rallies to become a soldier and serve the nation.

The first two-week pre recruitment programme will be held in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, where local youth will be guided and motivate to become soldier and serve the nation.

In its official Twitter handle, the Northern Command headquarters, in a tweet said “ With an aim to assist young aspirants from #Kashmir to join #IndianArmy, a two week pre recruitment programme is being conducted in #Ganderbal, to guide local youth & motivate them to become soldiers & serve the serve the #Nation”.

Army, Central Paramilitary Forces (CPMF) are conducting recruitment rallies in the Kashmir valley which evokes massive response from local youths despite threat perception.

Hundreds of local youths have joined the Army and other security agencies to serve the nation.

About a dozen soldiers have been kidnapped and later killed by militants in the valley when they were on leave to join families.

Whereabouts of a Territorial Army (TA) rifleman Shakir Manzoor  who was kidnapped by militants on August 2 in south Kashmir were still not known.
