Srinagar, Sep 2: Director Horticulture Kashmir Aijaz Ahmad Bhat Wednesday said apple growers are Adopting Modern Techniques gradually, A Fruit Grower at Drabgam installed Apple mini Grading line.
A progressive apple Grower at Drabgam has installed mini apple Grading line in his orchard to classify the different grades of Apple in terms of size, color, shape and quality. This is the first mini apple Grading line installed in an apple orchard in the south Kashmir.
Director Horticulture kashmir Aijaz Ahmad Bhat also visits his Orchard and other different Orchards of Shopian and Pulwama and advocates for professional Crop yielding, Hopes For Relaunching MIS and Directs Horticulture Departments be Available at door steps of each Fruit grower for their assistances.
He also paid his satisfaction over attaining modern technologies in the Horticulture sector. Director Horticulture said that the accuracy of mini Grading line is much accurate and the apple Grading done by mini Grading line also gets higher rates as compared to manuel gradding.
Modern technologies have been introduced in Horticulture and also the different varieties of apple crop has been introduced in this sector. However, most of Fruit Growers are still holding their traditional way in Horticulture but the adoptation of new Machinery and technologies has been adopted by progressive Horticulturist and he also put open invitation to Fruit growers to put their suggestions and share their experiences. So Horticulture Department can implement on mass ground level.
Meanwhile, Director Horticulture also said that the owner of orchard, which has installed mini Grad line in his shop will be rewarded with Horticulture incentives. So that the other orchardisist will get encouragement and further he added that the Govt is very serious regarding apple industry of kashmir and are using every possible way to make this sector more vast and more beneficial and also the Horticulture Department is trying to make a beneficial and easy road map for apple Growers & horticulture department has already submitted a new policy & proposal for future development of this sector.
