Sopore, Aug 23: The residents of Mohalla Naharpora in apple town sopore on Sunday complained that they are without potable drinking water since long and the concern department is watching as mute spectator.
The locals said that the water pipe line in the area has not repaired in the area since decades nor the new water pipes has been installed and the result the common people of the area are suffering.
The residents said in times of Covid 19 pandemic they are being forced to drink contaminated water which poses them the serious threat to get infected of water borne diseases.
They also said they informed the “jal Shakti Department” several times to install the new water pipes in the area but their plea fell deaf ear every time by the concerned officials the residents alleged.
The aggrieved residents have appealed the Deputy commissioner Baramulla to direct the concerned department to install the new water pipe line in the area so that they will not suffer ahead. (KNS)
