Precious Kashmir News
Srinagar, July 24: Jammu and Kashmir Hoteliers Club has taken a strong note of the seizure of Hotel Hilltop at Gulmarg.
In a statement, J&K Hoteliers Club Secretary General Tariq Rashid Ghani said Hilltop Hotel had gutted in the fire and the owner after managing money from one source to another had tried to reconstruct it with painstaking efforts so that it remains ready for ahead of winter season.
“It is known fact that tourism industry was worst affected for past one year due to known reasons. Even though other sector have revived gradually but only tourism sector will take over a year to get some business. However, instead of helping the tourism sector, government is making its functioning further complicated,” said Ghani.
Ghani said Gulmarg Development Authority should reconsider its decision so that hotelier who is already in stress due to loss in the fire incident would get reprieve.
Hoteliers Club has also urged Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter .
“It is high time that government provided all sorts of support to tourism sector so that some business is attracted for winter season. Government should not resort to such tactics which would only hamper the growth of this important sector which is an engine of growth for other sectors and provides huge employment to the youth,” he said.
