DGP sanctions Rs 1.20 Cr spl welfare relief for NoKs of policemen

Srinagar, Aug 24: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Monday sanctioned Rs 1.20 crore special welfare relief for the Next of Kin (NoK) of Jammu and Kashmir police personnel who died in harness.
DGP also sanctioned special relief of Rs 10 lakh for NoKs of Special Police Officers (SPOs).
Singh has sanctioned Rs 1.20 crore as Special Welfare Relief in favour of dependents and legal heirs of six such deceased Police personnel.
The DGP also sanctioned special relief in favour of NOKs of two SPOs who died during the course of their engagement.
The special welfare relief of Rs 20 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased Police personnel, Inspector Vinay Kumar Parihar, ASI Ghulam Nabi, HCs Ghulam Mohammed, Rangeel Singh, SgCt Ajay Kumar and Follower Mohammad Jamal who expired during service due to health related issues.
The financial assistance in favour of these families has been sanctioned out of Contributory Welfare Fund. Out of these Rs one lakh each was already paid to the families for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the concerned units.
The DGP has also sanctioned Rs 10 lakh special relief in favour of NOKs of deceased SPO Shanaza Begum and (Village Defence Committee (VDC) member Romesh Chander, who died during the course of their engagement.
