Young KAS officer emerging as motivational fitness icon

 

Srinagar, Aug 20:  A young KAS officer, Aijaz Hussain Malik from Tangmarg area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, is emerging as a motivational fitness icon for the people of Jammu and Kashmir with a strict routine of different exercises posted on his YouTube channel ‘Health Is Wealth’.

Defying all odds and overcoming the mental stress amid the global pandemic Covid-19 virus, Aijaz’s fitness motivation has evoked immense response with people from all backgrounds appreciating his efforts aimed at maintaining fitness.

Aijaz, a 2013 batch Kashmir Administrative Officer (KAS), who earlier rendered his services as district information officer (DIO) Kupwara and at many other places, is currently posted as state taxes officer, enforcement wing north Kashmir recently launched a YouTube channel, titled as “Health is wealth Aijaz”, wherein he regularly posts different exercises along with the proper way and benefits of particular exercise that has evoked huge response from general public.

Aijaz said that the encouragement for strict adherence to fitness came after gradually recovering from a major dislocated shoulder surgery at a time when lockdown was enforced amid this pandemic and no physiotherapist was available. “But my better-half and I decided to overpower the physical imbalance due to over intake of medicines,” he said.

He said after undergoing surgery in right shoulder and attending to physiotherapists for long but with the enforcement of lockdown in view of pandemic and remaining in pain for couple of days, he managed to do some exercises initially which made him realize possible change and improvement in his health especially shoulder.

“With the passage of time, I started a YouTube channel and named it as ‘Health is Wealth Aijaz’, which evoked huge response and people started encouraging and demanding more and more from my side that motivated me to do more,” Aijaz said, adding that a large number of people share their feedback through facebook with him.

Recommending people to stay fit and healthy, he said one must eat and have a balanced manner of lifestyle along with exercise to add days to the life rather than spending unnecessary money and time elsewhere.

The young KAS officer said that there is nothing more important to a person other than health and it makes one feel good with positive attitude and there should  be change in food habits also so that people see a huge change inside. (KNO)
