More notifications to come up soon: SSB Chairman

Srinagar, Aug 18: After withdrawing the job notifications published from 2014-2019, the government is set to advertise fresh jobs soon.
It may be recalled that the General Administration Department (GAD) had issued an order vide number 654-JK (GAD) of 2020 on June 19, 2020 under which all the posts for different departments published by Service Selection Board were withdrawn. After the notice the job aspirants who had applied for the posts advertised from 2014-2019 had hit the streets demanding that the government should reconsider its decision.
An official said that the government is mulling to fill the vacancies in the departments and the job notifications that were withdrawn earlier would be advertised again soon.
“The government is considering announcing fresh jobs and filling the vacancies in various departments across Jammu and Kashmir,” the official said adding that many vacancies have already been identified.
The new jobs for the youth were promised by the Central Government soon after it abrogated the special status of Jammu and Kashmir last year and bifurcated the erstwhile State into two Union Territories.
Reliable sources within the administration said that in the coming months, the vacancies in many departments would be identified and following which a due course will be taken to fill the posts.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB), Khalid Jehangir while talking to Precious Kashmir said that the board has already advertised 8500 class IV posts in J&K and similarly notification for 1900 accounts assistant posts has already been issued. “We had got intent from the GAD in this regard and we advertised the posts and the process is on,” he said.
“As per the government’s policy, fresh vacancies are coming up. As soon as we get the nod from the government, we will publish the job notifications,” the JKSSB Chairman said.
Asked how long it would take to make public the fresh advertisements of jobs, he said it depends upon how soon they will get the consent. “It takes time to complete all the procedures,” he added.
