India’s COVID tally reaches 18,03,695, recovery rate at 65.77 pc

New Delhi, Aug 3:  India’s COVID contagion tally on Monday climbed to a total of 18,03,695 cases till date.

According to the Union health Ministry update this morning, there have been 40,574 recoveries registered across the nation in the past 24 hours, with the recovery rate improving to 65.77 per cent.

The total number of recovered cases have now reached 11,86,203, the update added.

Active case load on the country at present stands at 5,79,357 after 11,627 such cases were added to the list since Sunday, the government data said.

Fatalities in India due to the COVID contagion have also increased after 771 people died due to the virus in past one day, taking the death toll till date to 38,135.

However, there has been a slight decrease in the COVID death rate, which at present is at 2.11 per cent.

A total of 2,02,02,858 samples have been tested for COVID as per the Indian Council of Medical Research till Sunday.
