Prez, V-P greet people on Eid-ul- Zuha

 

New Delhi, July 31: President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday greeted fellow citizens on the eve of Eid-ul- Zuha.

Extending his greetings, the President in a message, said EId-ul- Zuha symbolises the spirit of sacrifice and amity “which inspires us to work for the well-being of one and all”.

Reminding the people to follow all the rules and guidelines prescribed in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, he said “on this festive occasion, let us share our happiness with others and promote mutual harmony.”

The Vice President, wishing the people on the auspicious occasion, said the festival inspired us to inculcate empathy, practice sacrifice and promote peace and universal brotherhood.

“May this Eid bring peace, harmony and prosperity in our lives, country and the world,” his message said.

Due to Covid-19 pandemic, he urged devotees that almost all of our traditional festivals, which were otherwise celebrated with great splendour, should be observed in a more subdued manner. “We have to be content with a modest celebration and strictly adhere to the safety protocols of wearing masks, practicing physical distancing and personal hygiene during all our celebrations,” he added.
