Srinagar, July 13: One militant was killed and a lady was injured in a gunfight with government forces in Srigufara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday, police said.
“One unidentified militant has been killed and lady was injured in ongoing operation ,” a police official said.
Earlier, The gunfight had ensued after a joint team of Police, Army’s 03 RR and E/116 of CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Srigufara.
As the joint team reached near the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
