Rajouri, June 1: Army Monday said that it foiled an infiltration bid in Nowshera Sector of Rajouri district by killing 3 militants.
Army sources revealed that three infiltrators who were trying to cross over to this side were killed in the operation. “The operation has been going on since May 28. The infiltrators had entered into Indian territory where they were killed,” said an army officer.
The troops have launched a search operation in Rajouri and half a dozen villages in Poonch district, sources added. “A separate search operation has also been launched by the Border Security Force (BSF) and police in the Hiranagar area of Kathua-Samba sector, said an Army official. The operation was launched on Sunday night after security forces received information about the movement along the Line of Control, the KNT reported.
It said, “A massive search operation has also been launched in Mendhar Sector of Poonch District. The operation is going on in Samba sector’s riverine areas of Basantar and Eik Nalah areas, which are adjacent to Hiranagar.”
