Ramallah, May 27 (Xinhua) — Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Ishtaye accused Israel on Wednesday of acting to “undermine the Palestinian Authority” following Palestine’s decision to end all agreements with Israel.
On May 19, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced the abolition of all agreements and understandings reached with both Israel and the United States, including security coordination.
Abbas’s decision was made in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s declaration that his government will annex the Jordan Valley and impose the Israeli sovereignty on several settlements in the West Bank on July.
“President Abbas and the Palestinian leadership are serious in ending all the agreements reached with Israel,” Ishtaye, who met with Arab diplomats in Ramallah on Wednesday, said in a press statement.
“Coordination with Israel was fully suspended on the ground,” he said adding that “in response to implementing our decision, Israel is trying to undermine the Palestinian Authority.”
Ishtaye slammed Israel for planning to annex parts of the West Bank territories and imposing sovereignty on several settlements, adding that “this plan fully violates international law and threatens regional security.”
