Italy’s death toll from coronavirus climbs to 33,072

Rome, May 27 (Xinhua) — Italy reported 117 new COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s toll to 33,072, out of total infection cases of 231,139, according to fresh figures on Wednesday.

Nationwide, the number of active infections has dropped by 1,976 to 50,966 cases, according to the Civil Protection Department.
